WELCOME THROUGH MY RED DOOR!
I have never really decorated for Halloween and especially never set a table for Halloween, but since starting my new tablescaping hobby, of course I have to set one now! Unfortunately though I don’t have a lot of Halloweeny stuff with which to set that table!
I called a few friends to see what I might be able to borrow for this occasion and had to leave messages. By the time they got back to me I had already done what ended up being my Halloween tablescape.
This ceramic jack-o-lantern is what I usually put out on the front porch for the tricker treaters on Halloween night, but it is ALL I have that represents this ‘holiday’.
Except for the centerpiece, which is exploding with fall colors, the place settings looked a bit drab. So I had to come up with something else to convince someone that this was a Halloween celebration.
So cleaning out from under the furniture provided ping pong balls the kitties had tossed around the room. Included in that mess was all the wadded up balls of paper and bottle caps that serve as their favorite toys.
As if on cue, they promptly tried to swish that mess back under the furniture.
From the ping pong balls came ghosty napkin rings!! Maybe not too original, but they sure came in handy to set the mood.
Isn’t it scary?!!
Now, I think anyone would be able to tell that this is a table set for a Halloween meal, minus witches, spiders, bats and all the usual creepy stuff!
The layered look is comprised of a black woven placement, white charger, black dinner plate, flowered salad plate and alternated yellow and burnt orange soup bowls.
This is why I love fall; all the color combinations, endless possibilities.
Oh Livvy was too anxious to get in the picture; she didn’t change into her black cat costume!! See her back there, that sneaky little kitty!
From above, the complete view!
Now I can’t wait to see your Halloween tables!
Thanks for visiting with me today.
I’m joining Tablescape Thursday, see you there!
