WELCOME THROUGH MY RED DOOR!
I’m joining Kim at Savvy Southern Style for her first ‘Before and After’ Party. Come by and help her celebrate!
This is actually my first before and after also. I did this project way before I ever dreamed I’d be blogging, soooo I have no befores!!!
This was the dresser my husband shared with his two brothers while growing up. It had a brown finish and on the center top drawer his mother had painted a lone flower.
Before I did this to it, I had painted the drawers red and the dresser green and changed the knobs to plain wood.
Then I got the idea to turn the dresser into an entertainment center because I didn’t want to get rid of it and we needed something to put the TV on in the basement.
So I hung the top small drawers on the wall as shadow boxes in the basement.
And had shelves added to the two large drawers. I painted them white, added two newly built shelves to the sides and hung them in my sewing room.
This shot shows the fronts of the two drawers attached facing each other.
I drilled holes in the back of the dresser for the electrical and cable cords and spray painted the whole thing in a matte black.
So every part of the dresser was repurposed and still has a place in our home to preserve an old reliable piece of furniture!
Thanks for stopping in. Don’t forget to visit Kim!
What a great way to repurpose furniture. Great job and thanks for joining my party.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job with your dresser. It's exactly what my daughter wants to do when she finds a dresser :-) Thanks for stopping by for a visit and I love your red door!
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for something like this to put my TV on, thanks for the great idea, now it doesn't have to be the perfect cabinet as long as I can see other potential as a TV stand. GREAT JOB!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting. You were smart to keep all of the pieces - just in case.

Look how well you used it all! I am particularly fond of the drawers on the wall, but I love the actual dresser too.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great repurpose! I know that I started following you the other day, don't know why I am not showing up? Well, anyhow, I am following now!
